The inspiration behind BDK Meats
Bruce de Kocks was born in Johannesburg. He moved to Ireland 22 years ago. He is a jeweller by profession but a foodie at heart. For many years, Bruce produced South African delicacies for friends and family in Ireland. In 2013, in response to increasing demand, he was inspired to set up BDK Meats, turning his passion for top quality, delicious food into a business.
Steve van Rooyen was also born in Johannesburg, but grew up in Cape Town. Steve worked his way up through the restaurant trade, and worked as MC in a number of top eating establishments in Cape Town. He moved to Ireland in 2002. A keen food and wine lover, Steve knows the eating trade inside out, and brings that knowledge, passion and experience to BDK Meats.
